Introduction
This article explains how to set up your Hippo Pro IMAP email account on an iPhone. The process is simple and takes just a few minutes. These settings use IMAP and SMTP, which we recommend for best compatibility and syncing across devices.
- Important Note: We recommend that you use IMAP rather than POP for your incoming server. It is a protocol made to support several devices accessing one same account, with all folders synced at our server. We are also unable to guarantee that our backups will work correctly, if you use a pop account.
Step-by-Step: Add Your Email to iPhone
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and tap Mail.
- Tap Accounts, then tap Add Account.
- Tap Other, then select Add Mail Account.
- Enter the following:
- Name: Your name (how it appears to recipients)
- Email: Your full email (e.g.
yourname@yourdomain.co.uk
) - Password: The email account password
- Description: Anything you'd like (e.g. Work Email)
- Tap Next. Make sure IMAP is selected at the top.
