Like many company logos, there’s a simple story behind it. But for me, it’s also a personal one — a snapshot of a moment in time.
When I was forming the company, one of the hardest parts was coming up with a name. I wanted something that reflected the way I wanted to work: friendly, human, and reassuring. Something non-technical. Something that might make people smile.
I explored all sorts of ideas and even looked into professional design agencies. But the costs felt overwhelming at that stage. I knew what I wanted the brand to feel like — I just didn’t know how to get there.
Then came a family trip to the zoo.
My daughter was 15 at the time and absolutely loved hippos. We stood watching them glide through the water — huge, gentle, slightly ridiculous creatures that somehow look both powerful and calm.
Out of nowhere, she said, “Your business should be about hippos.”
I asked why. She didn’t hesitate.
“Because they’re cool.”
That was it. No branding theory. No marketing jargon. Just a simple, confident truth.
Later that day, we talked about it again. I explained the feeling I wanted the company to give people — approachable, dependable, quietly capable.
She’s always been talented at art. Genuinely talented. But up until that point, she’d worked almost entirely with pencils and paint.
Still, she sat down at the computer and opened a design program she’d never used before. No training. No tutorials. Just curiosity and determination.
A couple of hours later, she came back.

I was stunned.
I loved it instantly. And honestly, you don’t argue with your daughter when she’s that certain.

Looking back, I can’t imagine the company being called anything else. The logo carries a piece of family, a moment of creativity, and a time when everything still felt possible.
