How to Add an Email Forwarder in ezForward™

An email forwarder automatically sends email from one address to another. This is useful if:

  • Your primary email address has changed
  • You own multiple domains and want emails sent to any of them to reach one mailbox
  • You want to catch emails sent to an old or alternative address by mistake

With Hipposerve ezForward™, you can create simple email forwarders without setting up full mailboxes.

Important Note About Email Forwarding

Email forwarding is a convenience feature, but it is not as robust as using a dedicated mailbox.

Forwarded email passes through multiple mail systems before reaching its final destination. Because of this:

  • Some forwarded emails may be delayed
  • Messages may occasionally be flagged as spam by the destination mailbox
  • Delivery confirmation is less reliable than with direct mailboxes

This behaviour is controlled by external mail providers and spam filtering systems and is beyond Hipposerve’s direct control.

Email forwarding should not be used for business-critical or high-reliability email. If dependable delivery is essential, we strongly recommend using a dedicated mailbox instead.

Step-by-Step: Adding an Email Forwarder

1. Open the ezForward™ Control Panel

  • Log in to your Hippo Portal.
  • Navigate to the domain using ezForward™.
  • From the ezForward™ management screen, click Open ezForward Control Panel.

2. Open Email Forwarders

  • In the ezForward™ Control Panel, click the Email Forwarders button.

  • Click Create Forward.

The email forwarder setup window will now open.

3. Complete the Email Forwarder Details

  • Email Address: Enter the email address you want to forward (for example, info@yourdomain.co.uk).
  • To Email Address: Enter the destination email address where messages should be delivered.

4. Create the Forwarder

  • Click Create Forwarder to save the forward.

The email forwarder will now appear in the list of active email forwarders.

You can create as many email forwarders as required for your domain.
